I might be a bit late with my response.
Sorry, I needed to get a bit familiar with qemu.

I can compile colm-0.13.0.4 on debian armel (armv5tejl) with gcc
4.6.3-14. 

Your build log gives me a 404 error.
Could you provide a little more details (processor, compiler, etc).
